Steve Ecklund |
“Spot and Stalk Tips for Mule Deer" “The Essential Gear Bag for a Successful Hunt" Steve Ecklund grew up and started hunting at a very early age in the remote parts of Northern Ontario Canada. Steve’s passion for the hunt and the thrill of what the outdoors held was all that was needed to turn his passion into a lifelong obsession. He gained recognition for his talents in 1999 by winning a gold medal at the Canadian national 3D championships. It was at this pinnacle of his shooting career that he decided to focus solely on his hunting career. From Whitetail and Mule deer to Black Bear, Elk, Rocky Mountain Big Horn, Antelope and Canadian Moose, Steve has built an exceptional reputation as a fair chase hunter. Highlights of his success thus far include an impressive 232 inch mule deer and a pope and young No. 1 black bear that scored 21 14/16”. Steve is now an Ambassador Pro Staff member for the world’s foremost outfitter Cabela’s, and has recently accepted a position on the hit TV show “The Canadian Tradition” as they are currently filming hunts for season three. |

"Conservation and promotion of the North American Model through our Records and Fair Chase requirements." Most know Boone and Crockett as records keepers of North America. What they may not know is the records are maintained as a scientific data set. This seminar will focus on the conservation and the fair chase aspect of records. From this information we will point out some strengths and weaknesses throughout North America as seen in the records archives which will prove helpful to both managers and hunters alike. |
